Book The Hour Terms of Service

Welcome to Book The Hour, a service provided by Claim Kin LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website (bookthehour.com), scheduling platform, and related virtual services (“Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Who We Serve
Book The Hour provides time-boxed, hourly services such as:
- Virtual assistance for family history and storytelling
- Digital family keepsake creation
- General support services that do not require a license or certification
We serve individuals age 18 or older in the United States. If you are purchasing services on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have permission to share their information.
2. Service Booking & Payment
- All bookings must be scheduled through our designated platform (e.g., Calendly).
- Payment is due at time of booking via Stripe or other approved payment processor.
- Prices are clearly listed at checkout and are subject to change.
- Services are delivered virtually unless otherwise agreed in writing.
No refunds are provided once a service has been delivered. Refunds for cancellations are subject to the Cancellation Policy below.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
- You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours in advance of your appointment for a full refund or credit.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will not be refunded.
- If we must cancel or reschedule, we’ll offer an alternative time or a full refund.
4. Client Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during intake and service delivery.
- Participate actively and respectfully in scheduled sessions.
- Not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or violates any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services if your behavior is disruptive, abusive, or violates these Terms.
5. Delivery of Work
Final deliverables may include digital documents, media files, or private video/audio recordings. Delivery timelines and formats will be confirmed at the time of service.
You are responsible for downloading and safely storing your deliverables. We do not guarantee permanent hosting of your content unless you are subscribed to a separate hosting plan (e.g., Claim Kin private family site).
6. Intellectual Property
- All templates, processes, and materials provided by Book The Hour remain our intellectual property.
- You retain ownership of original content (e.g., stories, recordings) you provide, but grant us a limited license to use it to deliver your service.
- You may not resell, reproduce, or publicly distribute our materials without written consent.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and store your information.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our services are provided as-is. While we strive for accuracy and quality, we make no warranties or guarantees about the completeness, reliability, or timeliness of deliverables.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data or content after delivery
- Third-party errors (e.g., Stripe, Calendly)
9. Changes to Services or Terms
We may update our services, pricing, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of our Services after changes indicates your acceptance.
10. Dispute Resolution
We strive to resolve issues quickly and respectfully. If we cannot reach an informal resolution, all disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina.
